1. Join the Right Platforms

The top social media platforms are Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Snapchat. You should join as many as applicable to your business, and prioritize ones that fit the media you plan to publish (images, video, articles, etc.).


2. Complete Your Profile

Have a description of your company including the "About" section, hours, price range, and anything else applicable. The more complete your profile, the more trust you will build with potential customers. This also makes it easy for people to obtain information about you.


3. Tell A Story

Social media storytelling is exactly what it sounds like—using text, photos, videos, and other elements to craft a narrative and engage an audience with a great story. Storytelling on social media increases brand awareness, reaching and attracting new followers.


4. Leverage Hashtags

Increasingly, audiences crave content that is genuine. So steer away from overly stylized or too polished, and lean into content that feels more personal—and don't forget to be authentic to your brand; if you're faking it, your audience will know.


5. Interact With Posts

Post interaction is just as important as initially publishing the content. Not only will interacting with posts (likes and replies) increase visibility for the post, it will improve the image you present to your audience because they'll know you care.
